An Evening of Song
The Penston Vocal Academy, winners of the ESB Electric Ireland Feis Ceoil Choir of the Year, will celebrate a wonderful year with a concert in Arus Lorcain, Castlepark, Arklow, tonight (Friday June 10th) at 8pm. Admission is €10, with free admission for children under 5. Our varied programme of classical, musical theatre and popular music, will feature highlights of the year's choral, ensemble and solo work. Our students have worked very hard this year and we'd love to see as many there as possible to share the joy of music! :)

Naoimh expresses her delight
Musical Director for the Academy Naoimh Penston was interviewed on East Coast FM earlier this morning, recalling last week's wonderful successes at the Dublin Feis Ceoil. Interviewed by Laura Wood on The Morning Show with Declan Meehan, Naoimh highlighted the sterling work and achievements thus far put in by the students. Included in the interview, a recording by the Academy of "The Quiet Land Of Erin".

Penston Vocal Academy to perform for President
Choir delights at Feis Ceoil
Great excitement at the RDS in Dublin last evening as the Penston Vocal Academy were awarded the prestigious ESB Electric Ireland Feis Ceoil School Choir Of The Year. The immensely talented choir had earlier in the day lifted the Junior Unison U13 choir award and celebrations were doubled when it was announced that the choir had been selected as the Best Junior Choir, securing the Ite O'Donovan bursary. However, the best was saved for last with the announcement that the Penston Vocal Academy were the winners of the ESB Electric Ireland Feis Ceoil School Choir Of The Year award. Due to the marvellous success at Feis Ceoil, the Academy will now have the great honour of performing before the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, at the ESB Electric Ireland Gala Concert, which will take place at the National Convention Centre in Dublin on April 16th. High Achievers Awards
Congratulations to 18 year old Vocal Academy student, Tara Sterling-Byrne, on receiving a Royal Irish Academy of Music High Achiever Award for exceptional results in Musical Theatre Grade 6. Tara was then selected to represent the Leinster region at the Ceremony Concert in Portlaoise on Sunday November 14, where she delivered an outstanding performance of "Stars And The Moon", from Songs For A New World.

Celebrating One Year
The Penston Vocal Academy Junior Choir have been invited to perform in the John Field Room at the National Concert Hall on Monday September 27th 2010. This concert is being presented by Dublin's Feis Ceoil in celebration of its young prize-winners, and will showcase some of the most promising young performers from around Ireland. It is a great honour for us to be invited to open this concert. We will be hoping to bring a group of supporters to cheer us on! Choir hit the high notes
Our Junior Choir made their debut trek to the RDS in Dublin, to participate in the Dublin Feis Ceoil. A great experience for the choir, we came first in the Youth Choir two-part competition and second place in the Unison competition. Well done everyone!

A successful debut
Congratulations to everybody on a very enjoyable and successful debut competitive performance!! First prize in both competitions and beautiful comments from adjudicator Sonya Keogh have given you all a well-deserved reward.
We then went on to win the Best Overall Junior Choir award!
